Ailments and Diseases
1.     Anemia : Lack of enough blood, causing paleness.
2.     Anorexia : Loss of appetite.
3.     Arthritis : A disease causing pain and swelling in the joints of the body.
4.     Beriberi : It is a nervous system ailment caused by a deficiency of thiamine (Vitamin B1) in the diet.
5.     Chickenpox : A disease especially caught by children that is marked by a slight fever and spots on the skin.
6.     Coma : Deep unnatural state like sleep caused by illness, or injury especially to the brain.
7.     Diarrhea : An illness in which the bowels are emptied too often and in a liquid form.
8.     Diphtheria : A serious infectious disease of the throat.
9.     Epilepsy : A disorder of the nervous system which causes fits and unconsciousness.
10.   Erythropoietin : Hormone secreted by the juxta-glomerular cells of the kidneys.
11.   Flatus : It is accumulation of gases in gastro-intestinal tract which are expelled through anus producing characteristic sound.
12.   Flue : An illness like the bad cold but more serious.
13.   Gastric : Pain in the abdomen, excessive burping, puking or vomiting, nausea and difficulty in releasing gas is the symptoms of gastric.
14.   Hemorrhage : Heavy bleeding.
15.   Hernia : It is protrusion of the intestine into inguinal canal and may extend into scrotal sac.
16.   Indigestion : Indigestion is the most often pronounced ailment of modern times branching out into varied abdominal diseases.
17.   Jaundice : Bile pigments like bilirubin increase in blood causing yellowness in skin and eyes. Liver is also affected in this disorder.
18.   Kala-azar : A chronic and potentially fatal parasitic disease of the viscera due to infection by the parasite called Leishmania donovani.
19.   Leprosy : It is caused by mycobacterium leprae which was discovered by Hansen.
20.   Measles : An infectious disease, marked by fever and small red spots that cover the whole body.
21.   Migraine : A severe and frequently occurring headache, usually on one side of the head.
22.   Mumps : An infectious disease, especially among children, with painful swellings in the neck.
23.   Night blindness : A disease in which it is difficult to see objects in right way.
24.   Onchocerciasis : It is known as river blindness and Robles’ Disease. It is a parasitic disease caused by infection with the nematode Onchocerca volvulus.
25.   Plague : It is caused by yersinia pestis a deadly bacterium. It goes from rat to rat through the rat fleas.
26.   Pneumonia : A serious illness with inflammation of one or both lungs.
27.   Poliomyelitis : An infectious disease caused by a virus, often resulting in physical disability among children.
28.   Q fever: It is a disease caused by infection with Coxiella burnetii, a bacterium that affects humans and other animals.
29.   Rabies : An infectious disease which causes madness in dogs, wolves and passes to man from animal bites.
30.   Rash : A set of spots on the face/body.
31.   Small-pox : A serious disease marked by spots on the face, which leaves permanent marks.
32.   Syphilis : It is a sexually transmitted disease caused by the spirochaetal bacterium, treponema pallidum subspecies pallidum.
33.   Thrombopenia : Disease in blood platelet count.
34.   Tuberculosis : A serious disease affecting chiefly the lungs.
35.   Uniparental disomy (UPD): It occurs when a person receives two copies of a chromosome or of part of a chromosome, from one parent and no copies from the other parent.
36.   Vomiting : A feeling of nausea precedes vomiting. This reflex action is controlled by vomiting centre in the medulla.
37.   Whooping cough : A serious disease caught especially by children, in which the sufferer coughs noisily.
38.   Xeropthalmia : A disease is due to deficiency of vitamin-A. It may be a cause of dry cornea and blindness.
39.   Yellow fever : An acute systemic (body wide) illness caused by a virus called Flavivirus.

40.   Zoonosis : Any infectious disease that can be transmitted from non-human animals, both wild and domestic, to humans or from humans to non-human animals.
